swimming lessons

i am so proud of him.
jack LOVES swimming lessons.
he looks forward to going everyday,
and everyday he gets more and more brave.

they arent permitted to use swimmies or floats,
which i like. kinda would defeat the purpose.
today they went to the deep end and back for races,
and they did have life jackets on for that.
he did so good.
i love that he loves it so much!

swam the length of the pool himself on the kickboard

she was so mad that he was in the pool, and she wasnt!

ice cream is the best treat.
it was the perfect ending to our 6 hours at the pool!!

a good day..

well, truthfully..
any day that ends like this is a good day...right?

jack was EXTREMELY good on monday,
and we went out to dinner, and excellent there as well.
we told him because he was so good,
he could make his own sundae when we got home.

he poured everything on it ..
sprinkles.
choc syrup,
cherries,
then got the strawberry syrup,
yuck.

todd stood there, staring..
and said.. should we let him eat all that???
i said sure. no problem.
watch what happens.

jack was beside himself.
so excited,
dancing around.
took a spoonful.

ok i'm done.
i dont really like this that much.

last year...

what a difference a year makes.

ive been taking more time off than usual lately,
just to hang out with the kids.
its the simple things in life....

lightening bugs...

brings back so many fond memories of childhood summers,
doesnt it?

a few weeks ago,
jack asked about things i did when i was a little girl.
i told him about catching lightening bugs on warm summer nights.
he was intrigued and of course asked a ton of questions..

where did i put them?
how do they breathe?
does it hurt to catch them?

so of course,
it became our newest nightly obsession!
