milestone?

so darn sweet he is.
(most of the time)

let me start off by saying..
this picture,

of jack with his blankie..
i have been "holding" it..

for awhile.
i needed a special blog.
because of the meaning

it has to our family..
and to jack.

at my baby shower,
i got this blankie,
wrapped in yellow gift bag,
with babies feet on it,
with green tissue paper.
i still remember like it was yesterday
(occasionally my memory is good like that)

i was so confused.
to: baby
love: nana siuchta.

ummm ok. whats going on
theres a mistake here.
nana siuchta was my cousins grandmother.
she died when i was a little girl.
i think i was around 7 (ish?)

still clueless.
are they trying to confuse me?
minutes later as i see the tears in my cousins eyes
i realize.....
this IS from nana siuchta.
turns out, she made a few blankets before she passed away.
for the "future" babies in the family...

rosie, if you only knew what this has meant to us.
if you only knew.

i dont know how it happened,
but this blankie,
out of the MANY that jack received when a baby..
has become his favorite.

this blankie has gotten us through so many rough patches.
for jack, it means comfort, love, safety and security...
he sleeps with it,
and in the morning he sits with it for a good hour,
drinking his strawberry or chocolate milk,
while putting his fingers through the blanket.
if i give him his milk and he does not have his blankie "ready"...
its workd war III around here.
not kidding.

we go nowhere without it.
we just can't.
simple at that.

so tonight miranda was not thrilled that she had to go to bed,
especially because jack was still up.
whining, crying... pouting... she was NOT happy.

so jack disappears and comes back into her room...
hands her his beloved blankie and his moo-moo
and in his high pitched ridiculously high voice used for miranda,
he says..
here randa. dont be sad you hafta go night- night.
you can have moo-moo and my blankie.
i dont "e-ver" care if you keep this forever.
you can keep it randa. it will help you sleep so good.
(of course that made the world of difference to her.
she was thrilled.)

oh
my
gosh.

i dont know if he was serious or not,
but tonight ,
first night ever,
he went to bed without it.

ok ..... so i did ask him a million times if he was sure.
yea mommy, i dont need it anymore.
im so big and randa needs it more than i do anyway.
i can share wif her. i dont "e-ver" care.

if that doesnt say it all.. i dont know what does..
